For over a decade or so, dietary interventions and lifestyle changes have been gaining traction as a better alternative approach in health, wellness, performance, and longevity, if not in treatment and reversing of chronic illnesses and conditions.

The Wahls Protocol, developed and practiced to herself by Dr. Terry Wahls, to reverse her multiple sclerosis fully deserves recognition and admiration—an inspiration as well. Very similar to Thrive State principles, Dr. Wahls’ work has been taught to many and applied even to non-MS other autoimmune conditions and sickness and proved to reverse conditions and improve quality of life.
Dr. Terry Wahls is an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner and a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Iowa where she conducts clinical trials in the setting of Multiple Sclerosis. She is also a patient with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis, which confined her to a tilt-recline wheelchair for four years.
She is the author of best-selling books The Wahls Protocol: How I Beat Progressive MS Using Paleo Principles and Functional Medicine, The Wahls Protocol: A Radical New Way to Treat All Chronic Autoimmune Conditions Using Paleo Principles, and the cookbook The Wahls Protocol Cooking for Life: The Revolutionary Modern Paleo Plan to Treat All Chronic Autoimmune Conditions.
Dr. Wahls restored her health using a diet and lifestyle program she designed specifically for her brain and now pedals her bike to work each day.

- 3 cups greens
- 3 cups cabbage family
- 3 cups onion family
- 3 cups mushroom vegetables
- 3 cups deep pigmented vegetables/fruits like beets, berries, roots, and tubers
