How we became buddies

AJ: “And what I really appreciated about you is you are genuine. When you told me the story of how you were this doctor that was preaching health, but you were unhealthy. And you had to kind of thing I was like, Dude, this guy’s it. He’s practicing what he preaches, you know, to have that realization, at any point in your career. You’re not selling wolf tickets, you’re like, I’m the guy. You know, I feel like your journey of who you are genuinely, It’s a genuine care to get people healthy. ”

A downhill from the past and a career break

AJ: “ When I got too cocky I started being lazy and fucking mess with some drugs. It wasn’t who I was. And it goes back to what you said earlier, which I hadn’t drawn a parallel to the core, I had to sort of read and see this thing. I had to kind of go on this journey and I remember having this conversation in my car with myself in my rearview mirror gone. What do I do? I was like, 26 years old. 27. And like, all my friends back in Vancouver had jobs or married or some shit. I was super happy for them but like, do I just go back home? Like I’m living in my fucking car?

Decisions

AJ: “Oh, yeah. I had something that was like a tumor that was the size of a grapefruit and it disappeared. It was in the end the doctor was like, I’ve never seen this before. That whole day, just how that whole thing happening in the bookstore is crazy. But that I think again, pulling back in my own life of, of the belief of I’m doing this once I say I’m doing it, and I’m committed to it or whatever it is, in my mind, it’s hard to not knock me off of what I’m going to achieve.
