The whole world has spent years and tons of money trying to stave off the many chronic diseases hitting societies as a silent pandemic. Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, and other vascular complications like – well, erectile dysfunction…it’s been like the norm for people reaching 50s or even 40s. Even I had diabetes and thought, ‘oh so, maybe, it’s the inevitable price of living in this world at this time.’
We always tend to look outside. Blame this and that: the modified food, the pollution, the stress. It’s true, of course, that there’s so much terribly wrong about our relationship with nature right now. But we take it as if we’re left with no choice or that it’s a point of no return. We tend to grapple for external interventions to restore our health. We feel helpless without the meds. We feel hopeless about restoring our body’s optimum function.
We even tend to rub salt to the wound: we’re quick to pop antacids, antibiotics and—hold tight for this one—swig a mouthwash without knowing or fully realizing that we’re just committing a further offense against our bodies’ natural safeguards.
But I knew, from deep within, that what I thought when I learned about my diabetes is not true. It’s not what my years of medical education and training and practical experience have taught me. It’s not what the trust that I have in the higher intelligence that made all the otherwise wonderful things possible is telling me: WE ARE CAPABLE OF HEALING. WE ARE DESIGNED TO THRIVE.
The years of careful scientific research on nitric oxide—the magic molecule responsible for cellular communication within the body—by Dr. Nathan Bryan is an affirmation of these. He was right to hit at the bottom, the root of it all.
This holder of more than a dozen issued U.S. and international patents for breakthrough techniques that have revolutionized human physiology and disease management continues to make great strides because he had a firm grasp of the basics, the most fundamental principles about our body. Something that couldn’t be shaken even in the face of fearsome uncertainties that is Covid19.

But we’ve just recently figured out that the mechanism of a proper diet and exercise is the promotion of nitric oxide production. - Dr. Nathan Bryan: The dedicated researcher. “Research is the most enlightening experience for me. There’s nothing like the feeling of discovery.”
- Nitric Oxide (NO) is a molecule produced in most cells of the body. It’s how cells in the body communicate. And without communication, things go bad and disease and dysfunction set in. The loss of nitric oxide production is what is responsible for the onset and progression of all chronic diseases. Every single chronic disease is characterized by low blood flow.
- The Epidemic of Chronic Diseases: By the time we’re 40 or 50 years old, we only have 50% of NO that we had when we were younger. But while we know now that we can get NO activity from the foods we eat—plant-based, vegetarian diet, beets, kale, arugula— the usual American diet doesn’t include these green, leafy vegetables. So when we have deficient NO production plus we’re deficient from our diet, diseases set in—Type 2 Diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke.
- Two pieces of advice from Dr. Bryan: #1 Recognize that what you’re doing disrupts the natural NO production in your body; and #2 Start doing the things that actually enhance or restore NO production.
- Two Things that Enhance NO Production: Diet and Lifestyle. Exercise is medicine because it stresses the blood vessels’ lining trying to get more blood to the working muscles stimulating NO production. Green leafy vegetables contain high amounts of inorganic nitrate.
- Testing your NO levels: Unlike other biochemical indicators, it’s a gas that’s gone in seconds. The test strips measure your ability to utilize dietary nitrate to make NO. But you may appear to have a lot of NO in an area of infection even if you’re depleted systemically.
- NO for Optimal Function – Watch out for these symptoms: erectile dysfunction (loss of blood flow in the pelvic region in both men and women), high blood pressure, dementia/mild cognitive disorders, low energy. NO deficiency is a single disease that cardiologists, urologists, neurologists don’t recognize.
- 95% of Supplements Don’t Actually Work. Don’t get swayed by creative marketing. Educate yourself. Science matters. Patents and clinical trials are critical.
- Everything we know about Covid points to NO deficiency. Fifteen years ago, we knew that NO can inhibit coronavirus replication.
- We have a sick population. Dr. Bryan’s philosophy from 25 years of doing research has been to understand the extent of disease to rationally design safe and effective therapeutics to get to the root cause.
